WITS Ireland

WITS provides excellent networking opportunities, with regular events through the year where like-minded women and men can exchange experiences and ideas. Through WITS groups and services on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc, WITS offers a valuable resource to women in STEM, providing immediate access to people, research and information. Over the past 21 years, WITS projects have made a real difference to the number of women recruited, retained and returned to the STEM workforce. Its RETURN programme successfully resulted in a number of women returning to STEM roles after time away from work. The WITS Talent Bank was one of the first initiatives aimed at increasing the number of women on Boards. It offers a directory of competent, capable, qualified women, all with extensive experience in at least one STEM sector and all of whom would enhance any state or private-sector board. Policy & promotion: WITS actively engages in promoting the positive value of STEM to society and in forming and disseminating policy, especially where STEM research and decisions have an impact on women.
