we’re building a fact-checking game that will both teach critical thinking skills to players and let them to collectively verify information they see online. the system will be designed to reward honest participation and prevent bad actors from biasing the process. we will be the most reliable and unbiased source of truth available online, organized such that anyone can quickly verify claims and understand the reasoning behind them. misinformation is one of the biggest problems threatening our democracy today but there is no easy way to eradicate it. trust in traditional media is falling while social media is fast becoming people’s primary source of news. however, most posts don’t get fact-checked before being disseminated and it is extremely difficult to verify content at scale. today, opinions driving actions on critical issues like covid-19 and the elections are formed through unverified and even misleading sources. existing tools like wikipedia or snopes fall short as they do not
