Yavapai Community College
Yavapai County is hosting the annual Memorial Day Observance on May 27th from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the Citizens Cemetery 815 E. Sheldon St. Prescott. The planning process has begun for this year's observance where we replicate the event as portrayed by the Prescott Journal-Miner on June 1, 1909. The Cemetery was founded in 1864 and contains the graves of more than 3,000 Yavapai County pioneers. Veterans of numerous wars, including the Civil War, are interred in the cemetery. On Memorial Day we remember and honor those who have fallen in service to their country and acknowledge those still with us. Yavapai County Board of Supervisors would be honored to have as many members of the community as possible, as well as fellow county employees, in attendance at this patriotic event.
