E-convergence Technologies

E-Convergence Technologies Limited (ETL) incorporated in February, 2001, is a communications and education infrastructure company. It is focussed on providing companies and institutions with a platform with which they can communicate, train and educate people across the country. ETL has developed a proprietary software Train-need® (Copyright and IPR with ETL), which serves as the platform through which any content can be disseminated. ETL is located at Chembur, Mumbai, and currently has one studio which is linked to the earth-station at TataNet's hub at Mahape, on the outskirts of Mumbai. This connectivity is through its Microwave RF Transmission Tower and through its Patriot VSAT from Viasat, USA. These links allow ETL to hook up its studio, its demo-centre-cum-classroom with the TataNet hub and the GE-1A satellite. TataNet is ETL's service provider and business associate in this area. ETL hopes to make a mark in the areas related to virtual learning by: providing interested parties with the technical knowhow of how to spread training across their organisations very effectively but at the most reasonable costs; selling, upgrading and even customising its Interactive Distance Learning and corporate communications platform, Train-need®, and helping create studio facilities for corporates who wish to offer training/evaluation facilities to their own staff through a captive network; renting out its facilities to corporates, conference organisers and educational bodies who wish to offer such facilities to an audience dispersed across this country; setting up its own network to ensure that it can bring together content partners, (franchised) distribution centres which can act as classrooms, and students desirous of getting quality education at reasonable fees.
