Aberthaw Construction
Aberthaw has been involved in Walmart's ongoing building program since 2009, and was awarded its fifteenth project for the world's largest retailer in December 2014. That award was very closely followed by the award of Aberthaw's sixteenth and seventeenth project for Walmart in January 2015; all three projects will start construction early in 2015 and will be finished before year's end. The scope of work on individual projects has ranged from remodels to major grocery expansions to new locations, with contracts ranging from roughly $500,000 to nearly $14 Million. Walmart projects are compliance intensive with regard to worker eligibility and environmental concerns at the federal, state, and local level, and each job requires a minimum of four Walmart certified personnel including two superintendents, one project manager and the compliance officer. Additionally, most projects are driven by either new or expanded grocery elements, requiring very close coordination with store planning for the installation of all new refrigeration and energy management systems.
