Accounting For Good delivers all the processing, the accounting, reporting, budget preparation, acquittals, preparation for audit and statutory accounts in a timely, accurate and understandable way. Through a trusted advisor relationship, backed up by a qualified and supervised service centre, Boards and managers are provided with an external, diligent and professional review of all the financial information. We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join our team to deliver a range of financial management services to a diverse range of clients. As an Accountant you will provide accurate and timely accounting services and make a positive impact on our clients. In this role you will be responsible for: Deliver high quality project accounting and consulting services Provide a quality assurance role through the professional review of client accounts on a monthly basis Prepare or review monthly management accounts Review and lodge BAS and IAS returns Deliver contracted outcomes on time and within budget Ensure consistent implementation of accounting procedures and legislative requirements in the delivery of AFG's Financial Management Services Attend to client queries and communicate timely solutions Annual / Quarterly tasks as required: Preparation of annual statutory accounts; Prepare funding acquittals; Manage FBT compliance; Development of budgets; Ensure compliance with taxation and other legislation throughout the year; Preparation of audit documentation and liaison with auditors To succeed in this role you will have: CA/CPA qualification Tertiary qualified in an accounting discipline Knowledge of relevant Australian Accounting Standards, Australian taxation legislation, particularly in relation to GST and FBT Minimum of 5 years hands-on accounting experience The ability to use initiative, prioritise work and meet deadlines The ability to accurately prepare BAS, FBT and other taxation reporting The ability to troubleshoot inconsistencies and errors High level numeracy and reconciliation skills, with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy with figures Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Advanced Excel skills and competency in other Microsoft Office programs Adaptability in situations of high pressure and high workload Ability to mentor staff This full-time position is based in Sydney. AFG has a 38 hour working week, the office hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm.
