ACE Hardware
Crown Ace Hardware was founded in 1949 as a simple "mom and pop" hardware store in Corona del Mar, California. The original owners recognized the need for a local, convenient, and helpful hardware store. The name was derived from the name of the community itself. Corona del Mar, translated from Spanish, means "Crown of the Sea." In 1974, Jeff Schulein purchased the store, and he and his son Mark expanded Crown into additional Orange County communities. Crown Ace Hardware now proudly operates in Corona del Mar, Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Lake Forest, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, and Anaheim Hills. Crown expanded in 2007 into Riverside, Yucaipa, and Lake Havasu City in Arizona. The first San Diego location opened in the Liberty Station development of Point Loma in 2008, followed in 2009 by the latest addition on Coast Highway 101 in the coastal community of Encinitas. Crown teamed with the Ace Hardware Corporation in the mid 1980's to provide the leverage and buying power to help make Crown even better to customers. Even though the name changed to Crown Ace Hardware, the focus and commitment remain the same. Crown Ace is still family-owned and operated by the Schulein family, who firmly believe that Crown's success is based on one golden rule: provide exemplary customer service. Sixty years later, Crown Ace Hardware is still committed to offering our local communities the very best in customer service, convenience, and product selection. Crown prides itself on having a helpful and knowledgeable staff and the commitment to being the most helpful hardware stores on the planet.
