ActionStation Aotearoa

Our mission is to tautoko (support) and whakamana (uplift) everyday New Zealanders to act together in powerful and coordinated ways to create what we cannot achieve on our own: a society, economy and democracy that serves all of us - everyday people and Papatnuku, the planet we love. In 2017, our community came together to create a shared vision for the future of Aotearoa New Zealand in 2040. We chose this date because it will be 200 years since Te Tiriti o Waitangi was signed and a long enough time-frame to invite imaginative thinking. Our mahi (work) over the next 22 years is to help bring this vision to life. Our vision is called Te Ira Tngata: a People's Agenda for Aotearoa and you can read it, and how we put it together, in full here. We affiliate with no political party, and answer only to our members and supporters. We have a proven model of member-driven, digitally facilitated, multi-issue, rapid response, grassroots campaigning with a focus on shifting public opinion and driving the media agenda in order to influence political decisions so they are better for people and planet. We take a values and evidence-based approach to all that we do. Launched in July 2014, we have now grown to a community of over 150,000 New Zealanders.
