Activewhere

Activewhere was created in 1998 as an IT service company, providing services and software to banks and factoring/debt collection companies. It's based in Portugal (Lisbon) and its Head Offices are located in the countries biggest technology park, alongside with Microsoft, Oracle, etc. In an early stage, the company saw some opportunities in the rental services industry, developing its applications for some specific industries, like the Industrial Machine Rental. bout 8 years ago, a water cooler company approached Activewhere and asked us to develop our software in order to fit their industry specific requirements. Activewhere spent the two subsequent years developing and customizing the software. During this time, other water cooler companies started to show interest in Activewhere, making the company look at this niche market as a global expansion opportunity. Activewhere also explored, with success, similar niche markets like the Hygiene, Pest Control, Facility Services, Medical Waste and Plants Rental markets. Today, Activewhere has about 100 clients in 17 countries and 3 continents, from small to large corporations. Activewhere has a work force of 15 people, the majority dedicated to development and support activities. In the scope of the company's expansion, Activewhere is creating international branches in other countries (Activewhere South Africa exists already; Activewhere UK is under creation and others will come). This is basically to provide local support to our international customers and to reinforce our commercial presence in certain countries/regions.
