Adega de Ponte de Lima

Adega de Ponte de Lima

The Adega Ponte de Lima was founded in 1959. At its headquarters on Rua Conde de Bertiandos, in the town of Ponte de Lima - the oldest town in Portugal - the Adega currently has an installed capacity of eleven and a half million litres. The Adega Ponte de Lima, which represents around 2000 growers, their families and workers, is undoubtedly the most important structure - one might say the largest company in the municipality of Ponte de Lima. In 1998, the Adega de Ponte de Lima obtained Quality Certification to NP EN ISO 9001, from APCER - the Portuguese Certification Association, becoming the first wine cooperative in the country to obtain this certification. The Adega Ponte de Lima is based in the sub-region of Lima, one of the nine sub-regions of the Demarcated Region of Vinho Verde at northwest of Portugal, which due to the natural characteristics of their soil and climate and the varieties grown, produce wines very different although they share common characteristics: fruity and fresh with medium alcoholic strength.
