ADWSO provides support on human rights education, advocacy, monitoring, documentation and reporting. Human rights education programs are designed to increase understanding and commitment to respect for human rights on the part of both citizens and government. ADWSO's work also focuses on improving the capacity of other human rights organizations, community based organization, community development committee to monitor, document, and report on human rights abuses to local, national, and international bodies. ADWSO assistance includes mobilizing legal, medical, psychological and other forms of support to victims of human rights abuses, in order to facilitate their rehabilitation and social reintegration. ADWSO provide legal services to the needy, increasing access to justice, and promoting the rule of law. ADWSO's legal assistance programs encompass a wide range of community-based legal assistance services for the disadvantaged, including women, refugees and displaced persons, victims of human rights abuse, and the poor. These programs serve to provide access to justice for those in rural and poor urban communities, to develop information programs informing citizens of their legal rights and to mobilize these communities in support of legal reforms and the rule of law.
