Aetna Bridge
Aetna Bridge Company was founded in 1945 by Hugo R. Mainelli, Sr. a native of Rhode Island. Mr. Mainelli attended Rhode Island State College (now the University of Rhode Island) where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in civil and environmental engineering. After working for one of Rhode Island's largest highway and bridge contractors at that time, the entrepreneurial Mainelli endeavored to start his own company with a good friend and colleague. Under their leadership, Aetna Bridge Company grew and prospered due to hard work and an unwavering commitment to integrity, quality and excellence. Today, over 70 years later, Aetna Bridge Company is an acknowledged leader in bridge construction and rehabilitation, marine construction and demolition services. The company provides quality comprehensive construction services throughout New England to various state highway departments, cities, towns, private developers and port authorities.
