Community Health Club

We are a very lean organization with a broad field base: 5 -30 full time depending on current projects; 100+ community volunteers. Specific strengths/ capacity related to the EU Water Facility Grant: International Organisations are required to partner with local organizations, which in Zimbabwe, after ten years of severe economic challenges are thin on the ground. Zimbabwe AHEAD has not only survived this difficult period intact, but we have hung on to our dedicated staff who now have years of expertise and lead the field in many districts, providing international organizations with a partner who has the confidence of the local Rural Distrit Councils and can operate effectively on the ground having established strong working relationship with many of the community gate-keepers. We can claim to be one of the most innovative and creative local NGO having consistently piloted technologies and mobilization strategies that work. As the originator of the Community Health Club approach we are the foremost experts in how to achieve sustainable development through these viable community structures. We can also ensure that any project that are introduced into areas where are already working will be assured strong community buy-in as well as saving project start up time as our communities are already well organized and ripe for further development.
