Agritrade Leaf Tobacco is an agro-based organization registered in 2016 that plays a fundamental role in the upliftment of small scale farmers. The objective of Agritrade Leaf Tobacco in this fundamental value chain is to link the small scale farmer to affordable inputs at reasonable prices all the time. Due to the overwhelming response by the usually distressed entrant farmers, Agritrade Leaf Tobacco seeks to expand its operations by increasing the quantum of inputs and support to the smallholder farmers who has limited if not none security to access input funding through financial institutions. Currently, Agritrade Leaf Tobacco offers technical professional level agronomic advice to small scale farmers. Our framework creates a network that considers the technical, social, and institutional constraints in an environment that facilitates learning and growth with the ultimate aim of generating a knowledgeable and well- resourced farmer who can optimize production through innovative ideas rather than mere belief of the several experimental years of farming without using indigenous knowledge systems and technologies. In light of the foregoing, Agritrade Leaf Tobacco concept evolve around nurturing small scale farmers by providing input packages and technical advice consistent with the enumerated key milestones descriptive of an emerging paradigm shift of treating Flue-cured tobacco production as a business.
