The American Institute for Creative Education

The American Institute for Creative Education (AICE) was founded in 1974 by Dr. Barbara A. Pullen in Augusta, Maine. Dr. Pullen believed there must be a "better way" for educators to receive required credits while working full time at demanding jobs. AICE is still a Maine based business owned and directed by Melody Christensen, who worked closely with Dr. Pullen. Located in Bath Maine, AICE values a learning process where students of all ages reach their potential. 1. Our courses are relevant for today's educators. We offer courses based on federal and state standards, current educational research, and most importantly-each educator's needs. 2. Our participants are assigned individualized projects that can be used in their educational settings. Each project is tailored to meet classroom needs, for specific students, or for building professional portfolios. 3. We provide instructors who have actual classroom experience. AICE instructors teach from the valuable resources of their classroom experience and knowledge. Textbooks and tests are not a part of the AICE experience. 4. We design course schedules that are convenient for educators. In the summer, our courses meet on weekdays. During the school year, courses meet Friday evenings and Saturdays.
