Air Wales
Air Wales, the national airline of Wales, was established in 1999 with the assistance of Swansea property financier Roy Thomas. Initially based at Pembrey Airport in West Wales and operating one plane, Air Wales has expanded dramatically. The airline currently employs over 120 personnel, including 45 flight deck staff, 20 engineers and 20 cabin crew. Now in its fifth year, Air Wales operates services from Cardiff, Plymouth and Norwich airports to Dublin, Newcastle, Liverpool and Aberdeen, many of which were former BA routes. Under successful marketing agreement with BMI BABY, Air Wales operates services from Cardiff to Cork, Prestwick, Jersey and Belfast.
