Amanda Jones Aromatics
Amanda Jones Aromatics is a small, artisan soapery located in Barbados. We make beautifully fragrant handmade soaps from carefully selected botanicals and natural ingredients that are of the highest quality. We also sell a few other things, for example, unique and colourful giclee fine art prints, and handcrafted perfumes made in small batches from pure botanical essences and high quality aroma compounds. The concept and packaging for many of our products are inspired by African diasporic heritages and cultures, and each item tells a story. Our soaps are produced using two different techniques; both result in a handmade soap of unsurpassed mildness and quality: Cold-processed soaps. These are our soaps made from a traditional, time-honoured technique where five natural and basic ingredients - pure olive and coconut oils, water, lye and herbs - are heated, mixed together, stirred slowly and carefully by hand, and then set in sturdy sillicon moulds. The soap is then left to cure for a period of four to six weeks, cut into bars and individually wrapped by hand. These soaps are suitable for those who prefer a natural, more rustic bar of soap that is either mildly scented or has no scent at all.
