Akada Software
AKADA Software was founded in January 1994 by Dale and Suzi Roedger. Suzi was managing a dance studio using an out of date DOS program. Dale was running a successful hardware and software consulting business. Suzi asked for a Windows-based program that would be easy to use and produce reliable results. Dale applied his expert knowledge of computer programming and Suzi brought her extensive background in dance studio management and AKADA Software was formed. Dale has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He has worked for major computer manufacturers for over 25 years developing software with an emphasis towards humanizing the user-software interface. For the last eleven years, Dale has run his own consulting business, working extensively with small businesses to help them automate their accounting and database functions. Suzi has been involved in the dance business for many years, managing a studio of 500 students, a preschool, and a performing company. Her understanding of the office procedures and the customer interaction in dance studios was essential in designing a program that can manage all the aspects of a dance studio in a logical flow. Dale and his programming staff released the first version of DanceWorks early in January 1994. The program was well received by studio owners across the United States and internationally and continues to be the top program on the market. AKADA Software has been featured at the Tremaine Conventions and the Co.
