Health
Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE) is an independent Scottish Charity funded by a grant from the Scottish Government. The organisation is governed by a Board of non-executive directors elected from our membership of health and social care voluntary organisations and supported by three directors, who are co-opted for their specific skills. The Board leads the development and strategic direction of the organisation. The ALLIANCE is led by its members - a growing community of nearly 400 bodies and individuals working hard to make the lives of people with long term conditions, disabilities and unpaid carers better. More than three quarters of our member organisations are voluntary groups that support or represent disabled people, people living with long term conditions and unpaid carers. Associate membership is open to any organisation - public, private or voluntary - that supports the work we do and this includes a number of health boards and professional bodies. The ALLIANCE has three core aims; we seek to: Ensure people are at the centre, that their voices, expertise and rights drive policy and sit at the heart of design, delivery and improvement of support and services. Support transformational change, towards approaches that work with individual and community assets, helping people to stay well, supporting human rights, self management, co-production and independent living. Champion and support the third sector as a vital strategic and delivery partner and foster better cross-sector understanding and partnership. The Hub
