Allwinds

Allwinds Ab is owned by the wind power companies Ålands Vindenergi Andelslag, Ålands Vindkraft Ab and Leovind Ab and has more than 15 years of knowledge and experience. Allwinds is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the owners 18 wind turbines. Allwinds sells the knowledge and know how to wind turbine- and project owners outside Åland Island. Allwinds also sells the energy from the owners wind turbines to customers on Åland Island and have approximately 10 % of the market, mainly companies but also consumers. The modern wind power on Åland Island has its roots in the beginning of the 90´s when Ålands Landskapsstyrelse gave Ålands Teknologi Centrum a mission to investigate the possibility to build a wind turbine on Åland Island, which led to that wind turbine "Vinghals" was built and put into production in January 1992. During the same time, Harry Lindqvist worked on his project on his summer island. To execute his project he visited Ålands Teknologi Centrum and got help to start Ålands Vindenergi Andelslag, and so the first private owned wind power company was born in February 1994.
