Aloha Nui Family Practice was established in 2007 in Hilo, Hawaii as a premier family medicine primary care, patient centered medical home offering comprehensive, cost effective and innovative health care services. Over the last eight years, we've cared for over 28,000 healthcare visits, which have ranged in severity from the inconvenience of a mild cold to more serious illnesses like HIV or cancer. At Aloha Nui we focus on offering integrative and holistic family medicine services which means we believe in forming a strong relationship with our patients by using our model of a patient centered medical home. This care embraces all stages of life guiding acute care treatment chronic illness management health education preventative services as well as end of life care. We look forward to further improving the medical health and wellness of our East Hawaii community through the establishment of The Dan Harmeling Medical and Wellness Center. Our new medical center will be a primary care, multi-specialty, healthcare facility providing much needed healthcare services to our Hawaii Island residents. The Dan Harmeling Medical and Wellness Center will help to address the physician shortage and support the improvement of healthcare services from early adolescence into our older years, caring for our "keiki" to our "kupuna". This new and innovative medical & wellness center will allow for Aloha Nui's continued growth and improvement to meet our community's need for equal access to quality healthcare. The Dan Harmeling Medical and Wellness Center will be a primary care medical home complex offering the following services: · Family medicine · Women's health · Geriatric care · Pediatrics · Mental health and wellness · Physical therapy and rehabilitation · Diagnostic and cosmetic dermatology · Pharmacy and medical supply services Our Inspiration: The Dan Harmeling Medical and Wellness Center is dedicated in honor of Daniel Edward Harmeling (dob: November 6th 1941) for his unwavering integrity, strength and dedication to the equality of all mankind. Dan Harmeling's commitment to supporting social equality from his earlier years as a non-violent student activist to his continued dedication as a lifelong educator working within underserved communities, has been a guiding principle of Aloha Nui's founder. This principle is evident in our clinic's commitment to improving equal access to health and wellness regardless of race, economics, or circumstance.
