ALP Industries, originally American Lifting Products, was established by Reitzel Swaim and Ron Space in 1981 at Parkesburg, PA. The company's first major expansion occurred in 1983 when the acquisition of Pennsylvania Sling Company and Cobb Wire Rope and Sling Company added locations in Harrisburg and Pittsburgh, PA, and Atlanta, GA. During the 1980's and 90's Carolina Chain and Cable Company, the Harding Company, Wayland Incorporated, Florida Wire Rope and others were purchased. Northwest Wire Rope & Sling Co., Tacoma, WA was acquired in September 2001. Wayland SW in N. Las Vegas, NV was opened June 1, 2006. In 1985 ALP began fabricating nylon slings and cargo control products at ALP - Web Products Division, Aberdeen, NC. Coatesville Washer / Alamer in Parkesburg, PA, directs the acquisition and distribution of imported industrial, construction washers and various rigging products. These products are marketed through our riggings shops and selected sales representatives. ALP's trademarks include Penco®, Saf-T-Grip®, Redi-Grip®, Mulox®, and Tufskin®. ALP has registered Orange/White strand colors for wire rope and PMS Blue as the color of our load binders.
