The Altamont School

Since 1975, The Altamont School has offered a traditional liberal arts curriculum to fifth graders through seniors. This rigorous and invigorating curriculum continues to prepare our students for the most competitive colleges in the country. Our motto Truth, Knowledge, and Honor serves as the ethical and academic foundation of the education we provide for the children we teach. With approximately 365 students and 55 faculty members who offer not only expertise in their fields but also a devotion and passion for learning and teaching, the campus thrives with a lively interaction between the older and younger students. A strong student advisory program helps to nurture the individual student's interests, talents, and opportunities. Wherever I go, I see members of our alumni community who maintain a deep appreciation for the educational experience at Altamont, the lifelong friendships they established, and a fondness for the faculty who taught and inspired them. They talk about the rich traditions of reading great world literature, of spending their days surrounded by great art, of making exciting discoveries in science and math, of learning about the world's great civilizations, of finding a multitude of opportunities to excel in fine arts, in athletics, and in leadership.
