Alternative Photography (formerly known as The Photo Specialist) began operations in November 1991. Originally the focus of the company was portrait and wedding photography. The company prospered early though the senior portrait business. Over the years the staff at our studio gained much knowledge and experience, continuing to improve the quality of our service and products. As the company continued to expand a new addition to the building was needed. In the summer of 1998 a brand new state of the art studio was added. Our clients loved how our new addition added to their experience. Everyone involved in our growing process was very excited about the new direction of our company. Over time, the requests for our services for sports and event photography increased. Starting out slowly, only assisting a few select organizations, our sports and event clientele grew. A system was developed and we were able to provide our unique quality of photographic services to a vast number of clients quickly and efficiently - photographing sports teams, youth leagues, school dances, martial arts academies, dance companies, and other events. In 2005 we had grown to the point where we needed to divide our company to guarantee the service we had become known for. The birth of Beutler and Associates Fine Portraits came about to handle our portrait and wedding division. Alternative Photography still maintains our sports and events photographic services. By attending seminars throughout the country we continue to learn of new products, software, and equipment so that we may better our products and services we offer you. This ensures that we are always on the cutting edge of the industry. Our experience in the portraiture gives us superior knowledge when it comes to posing and lighting of our subjects. Our studio has expanded and is now servicing various organizations, youth leagues, and high schools throughout the entire state of Michigan and abroad. In the past few years alone, Alternative Photography has given back over $20,000 to various school districts and organizations. Alternative Photography is proud to have served school districts and organizations throughout Michigan for over 15 years.
