Altpro has been developing and producing safety and signalling systems for railway rolling stock and infrastructure ever since its founding in 1994. More than 700 different devices, developed entirely on the basis of ALTPRO's own know-how, have proven their competitiveness on the global market in over 40 countries on 6 continents where they have been installed. With its complete product range of signalling systems for infrastructure and safety systems for rolling stock , ALTPRO is one of the few producers of such equipment in the world, which is recognized also in European Commission sector analysis (link). Main Altpro products are Level Crossing Protection System type RLC23, Multisection Digital Axle Counter type BO23, Train Detection Systems (type UTR/ITR and TDR14) and Automatic Train Protection System based on INDUSI (PZB) principle type RAS 8385. All products are characterized with high quality and easy integration in new and existing systems. ALTPRO has always paid a lot of attention to the quality and original solutions in the work of its over 90 employees, with majority of them being electrical, computing and mechanical engineers employed in the development and project departments. Company's quality assurance system has been confirmed with ISO 9001 certificate for business operations management system, as well as with certificates for compliance with EU norms issued by independent third party TÜV Rheinland. All safety signalling products have been certified for the safety level SIL 4. From year 2003, Altpro has been granted numerous certificates and approvals for innovative products for railways on fairs in Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, Switzerland, Malaysia, Russia, USA etc. In 2004, ALTPRO became the full member of UNIFE (The Association of the Railway Suppliers in the European Union)as the first and only member admitted to UNIFE outside the European Union. ALTPRO has been a member of the UNIFE expert working group for signalling ever since. In 2011, Altpro established its new Research, Development and Production Center in Odra near Zagreb.
