African Mining Consultants Limited (AMC) is a geological, mining, and environmental engineering firm based on the Zambian Copperbelt. The company was formed in 1994 following the signing of affiliation agreements with Golder Associates, a geotechnical and environmental engineering company with more than fifty offices around the world, and Bluhm Burton Engineering, a respected South African ventilation consultancy. AMC has considerable expertise relating to open-pit and underground mining projects and exploration prospects, particularly gold and base metals, and can now claim to be one of the most experienced mining and environmental consulting groups in Africa. AMC has more than 45 permanent employees and external professionals working in numerous locations across Africa bringing a real experience to the continent. The company's principal aim is to provide consulting and project management services to the mining industry in the region. Our consulting engineers have many years of diversified experience in Africa. The client therefore has the benefit of local experience, supported by the skills, capability and resources of several international engineering groups. AMC is able to offer the client an opportunity to delegate feasibility, engineering, design and audit work to a team capable and experienced in producing studies or reviews to the level of a bankable document. Since formation, AMC has worked on a diverse range of projects and audits for major clients with regional interests, such as, Anglo American Corporation, Anglovaal Mining, Metorex, The Commonwealth Development Corporation, Delta Gold, Glencore, First Quantum Minerals, Lonmin and Ashanti Goldfields.
