Amity Technology
Amity Technology continues to research no-till methods. Dahl's vision is that farmers will be able to use computers to determine specific weeds and how to target the weed with the appropriate herbicide. Already, Dahl's company has developed a soil sampler that takes zero to six, six to 12, and 12 to 24-inch samples automatically. In 2003, Amity Technology became the world's leading manufacturer of sugar beet harvesting equipment. Over a 10-year period, $50 million in products have been shipped to the former Soviet Union. Since starting Amity Technology Dahl joined with others to purchase Wil-Rich, which manufactures soil samplers, tramlines, compaction mapping, and "nitro bars." The three companies employ approximately 185 people in the Red River Valley. Dahl also serves as an entrepreneur mentor, advisor, and investor to other companies as well.
