American Mathematical Society
The American Mathematical Society (AMS) is a representative body of leading Mathematicians with the core mission of furthering mathematical research, education and awareness through scholarships, publications, meetings, advocacy, outreach and other programs. The society, which was originally established in 1888, consists of 30,000 members and 570 institutions worldwide. The AMS, along with several other organizations, holds one of the world's largest annual research meetings in mathematics with around 6,000 people attending annually.
