Aligarh Muslim University, with an affluent cumulative past spanning more than a century, was established by the avant-garde social reformer, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan in 1877 as Mohammedan Anglo Oriental (MAO) College. ? Fostered to a university in 1920, AMU continues to be one of the paramount universities and a grand seat of learning in the subcontinent. ?
