Anchorage Digital is a digital asset platform and infrastructure provider headquartered in San Francisco, California. On January 13, 2021, Anchorage Digital became the first company in the cryptocurrency space to be granted a national bank charter by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), making Anchorage Digital Bank the first federally chartered digital asset bank in history. Anchorage Digital was founded in 2017 by Diogo Mónica and Nathan McCauley, engineers who previously led security teams at Square, Inc. and Docker.
