New Direction

A New Direction is supported by a number of different funders and sponsors (as listed in our annual review). Our main funder is the Arts Council. We are funded as an NPO from 2011-2012-2013-2014-2015. Does A New Direction grant fund projects? A New Direction is not a grant funder and we do not have funds for direct delivery. We do have a limited capcity to invest in joint projects where they meet our strategic objectives - one instance of this is the Connected London programme where we are supporting eight local programs across London, this funded opportunity has now closed. Does A New Direction have priority boroughs? We recognise that every area of London has some level of need in regards to children and Young People, so we don't prioritise boroughs on this basis. However we do have a strategy for local areas which aims to bring people together who work in strategic roles at a local level and activate experimental projects in different places. Do you conduct your own research? We are currently developing our research programme. We also generate intelligence and information about children and young and their access to culture in London. What is AND's relationship to the Associate Bridges? A New Direction is the lead Bridge organisation for London and we are supported in our mission by four Associate Bridges - Apples and Snakes, The Lyric Hammersmith, Roundhouse and Sadler's Wells. We are always interested in hearing about projects and may be able to offer useful advice. However, we have limited capacity to engage beyond our current programmes and we are not a grant giving organisation.
