Anti-Pest Co., Inc. is a family owned, professional pest control company located in Shreveport, Louisiana. Since our beginning in 1950, we have won numerous awards, including the prestigious Torch Award from the Better Business Bureau for our business ethics. More than once, we have been voted "Best Pest Control Company" by The Times Reader's Choice Awards. We are top-rated by individuals on Angie's List and we were voted top Pest Control Company in Shreveport-Bossier City by the "Locals Love Us" website five years in a row! Anti-Pest was founded in 1950 by Truman Thomas. In 1955, J.T. May joined Anti-Pest and served as General Manager for many years. In 1982, Mr. May purchased Anti-Pest and served as Chairman of the Board and also as President until 1996. After his retirement in 1996, he continued as Chairman of the Board until he passed away in December, 2010. In 1990, Jarrod Horton joined Anti-Pest and has served as General Manager and President since 1996. In January, 2011, Mr. Horton was named Chairman of the Board and also continues his role as General Manager and President. In continuing the family business, Michele May Horton joined Anti-Pest in 2000, and currently serves as Office Manager and Chief Financial Officer. Mrs. Horton also serves as a member of the Board Directors. In addition to our management team, Anti-Pest has a highly trained staff to meet your needs, including 21 Pest and Termite Technicians, their Supervisors and Customer Service Specialists. In January, 2013, The Hortons had the opportunity to expand their service offerings and as a result, purchased Porter's Carpet Cleaners, a local, family-owned business in Shreveport. Porter's Carpet Cleaners, much like Anti-Pest, has always been a leader in quality service, and has been taking care of homes and businesses in the Shreveport-Bossier area since 1974. Porter's Carpet Cleaners not only cleans carpet, they specialize in cleaning Fine Oriental Rugs, Area Rugs, Custom Drapery, Upholstery and Ceramic Tile.
