Aravind has strengthened its core competencies in patient care and training thanks to several collaborations and partnerships developed over decades. As a WHO Collaborating Centre for Prevention of Blindness, Aravind strives to influence the way eye care is delivered in the developing world - by enhancement of trained human resources through training, mentoring and capacity building. The residency training programme is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. The Diplomate of National Board is awarded by National Board of Examinations at New Delhi. International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) examinations (Basic & Clinical Science assessment), Cambridge, UK are regularly conducted at Aravind.
