Area Substance Abuse Council
Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC) is a private nonprofit corporation governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Formed in 1962, ASAC is one of the most comprehensive substance abuse prevention and treatment agencies in the state of Iowa. The service area primarily serves Linn, Benton, Jones, Jackson and Clinton counties as well as clients from across Iowa. ASAC is licensed by the Iowa Department of Public Health, Division of Health Promotion, Prevention and Addictive Behaviors, to combat the abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
