Academy of Economic Studies

Founded in 1913, by Royal Decree, ASE is a public university, accredited by the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education with a high degree of confidence, ranked as research intensive and education university ("A" class) in the national ranking conducted by the National Education Ministry in cooperation with the European Universities Association. With almost 22.000 students enrolled in 12 faculties, ASE offers a wide range of programs in the fields of economics, business, public administration, sociology, applied modern languages and business law. The university offers: - 24 Bachelor's programs, out of which 8 are taught in English (Business Administration; Management; Marketing; Finance and Banking; Accounting and Management Information Systems; Economic Informatics; Business Administration in Trade, Tourism, Services and Quality Management; International Economics and Business), 1 in French (Business Administration) and 1 in German (Business Administration); - 84 Master's programs (8 MSc. and 76 MA), out of which 11 are taught in English, 1 in French and 1 in German; - 3 international MBA programs, with double degrees, accredited internationally: 2 taught in English (Romanian-Canadian MBA and Romanian-French MBA), 1 in German; - 10 doctoral programs, available also in English, French or German: Accounting; Business administration; Business law; Cybernetics and Statistics; Economics; International business and economics; Finance; Economic informatics; Management; Marketing. Internationalization in one of the priorities of the university, embedded in the institutional strategy. The main development paths are internationalization at home and increasing international mobility for students, researchers and teaching staff. To this aim, we are working towards increasing the number of international partners for academic, scientific and cultural cooperation, increasing the number of international mobilities (incoming and outgoing) for students, researchers and academic staff, developing international study programs and attracting more international students and staff. Our university welcomes each year approximately 600 degree-seeking foreign students, coming from non-EU countries and approximately 100 incoming students on mobility programs (exchange semester or year). The university provides services for the international students such as: orientation and integration (in cooperation with the students' associations), accommodation in student halls owned by the university, university restaurants, free internet access on campus, computer rooms, library, university book shop, sports facilities, medical services, career guidance, language courses (11 languages, including Romanian as a foreign language), cultural and social activities.
