ASL Services
ASL Services works within the under-serviced Deaf/Blind populations, providing both services and cutting-edge technology tailored to their needs. During the past year, ASL Service's initiatives have included providing hurricane relief to employees in Puerto Rico during hurricane Maria in 2017 and emergency virtual Sign Language interpreting for the Red Cross during hurricane Irma, Hurricane Maria and deadly fires in California. The organization also collaborated with the Communication Centers for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Den. Darren Soto, U.S. Rep Victor Torres and U.S. Rep John Cortes to pass the Deaf Floridian ID Bill. The award was received by Gabrielle Joseph, COO, during the FSMSDC 43rd Annual Gala on September 21st, 2018 at the Hilton in Downtown Miami, FL. ASL Services was nominated for this prestigious award by Orlando Health. Ms. Joseph commented, "We are very grateful to them for their continual support". ASL Services began in 1989 in Central Florida and has been dedicated to providing the highest level of Sign Language interpreting available. ASLS has amassed an impressive resume of clients within Central Florida communities and throughout the Country. ASL Services also hosts many local events and conferences to educate and empower the Deaf about topics such as Deaf rights, disaster preparedness and more.
