AstroCymru
AstroCymru provides primary and secondary students with 3D STEM shows, lectures and workshops, based around astronomy and space science. The project uses innovative resources to engage learners with a range of STEM topics, and trains teachers to use them in their classroom STEM sessions. These include awe-inspiring 3D shows delivered to large audiences, small "hands-on" workshops where students interact with meteorites and dinosaur fossils, and remote-control of research-grade telescopes in Hawaii and Australia. AstroCymru inspires learners to study STEM by engaging them with "big science", utilising state-of-the-art e-learning resources and 3D shows about the Large Hadron Collider, space telescopes and astronauts, and providing access to "real science" through robotic astronomy facilities, allowing them to participate in research projects, gathering data for professional scientists. It exposes students to what science is really like, inspiring them to continue studying STEM subjects in school and beyond.
