atect corporation is a Japan-based company principally engaged in the semiconductor protection material business and the sanitary inspection equipment business. The Company operates in three business segments. The Semiconductor Protection Material segment manufactures and sells spacer tapes such as tape automated bonding (TAB) tapes and chip on flexible printed circuit (COF) tapes, which are used as protective materials in information processing and electronic system equipment parts such as large-scale integration (LSI) for liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and plasma displays. The Sanitary Inspection Equipment segment is engaged in the manufacture, purchase and sale of sanitary management products such as disposable petri dishes, test tubes, live culture medium equipment and colon bacterium detection equipment.
