Atlas Machining and Welding
Atlas Machining and Welding, Inc., one of Eastern Pennsylvania's leading job shops, has a rich history in the region. Back in the 1970s, like many in the area, Harold Keeney was a loyal, productive employee of Coplay Cement Company. When that company closed, Harold saw opportunity. So he and his wife Pat gathered all their resources and created a company that at that time was largely engaged in making parts for the Cement Industry. Harold had no formal business training; but he was ambitious and surely knew the meaning of hard work. Harold understood that his customer was the center of his universe. In the factory there were two things he cared deeply about: the quality of the work coming out of his shop and the fact that the job was delivered when promised. Outside the factory Atlas customers understood that Harold's word was rock-solid and when he shook your hand, it was a pledge you believed. Atlas did not disappoint. In time the Atlas reputation attracted 'emergency' jobs that other shops would not or could not accept. Atlas at its core was 'Customer-Driven' - and the company defined itself as a 'do-whatever-it-takes' organization. These same values are alive and well in the company today. Likewise as the company grew, customers needed greater flexibility and a broader menu of services - not just machining, but welding, mechanical assembly services, fabrication, laser cutting and precision bending - and the list goes on. Today, 30+ years after its modest birth, Atlas is a one-stop shop - from initial design through production, quality assurance and a host of specialty services unmatched in the region - all of which grew from Harold's stubborn commitment to ensuring his customers could depend on Atlas for all their needs, customary or urgent. There is a picture that sits in Harold's office of his then 5 year old daughter Lisa sitting atop a monster front end loader. Years later that same little girl received her degree from Lehigh University, and upon graduation over 15 years ago joined Atlas, and earned her way in the family business the old fashioned way - from the ground up - getting her hands dirty working diligently in every department in every division of the company. Lisa possesses the same laser focus on the customer, the same fierce determination she learned at her father's knee, and powerful leadership skills that have earned her the position of President and COO. Atlas Machining and Welding, Inc., with its 60,000 square ft. of manufacturing space situated on 17 acres of land, is widely known as a stable and sound company that consistently invests in its infrastructure and its impressive array of equipment. More importantly Atlas invests in its people - talented, seasoned professionals - the very best. Atlas serves clients principally in the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions, but is proud also of its service to numerous international customers, anywhere from here to Australia.
