Australian Transport Safety Bureau
The ATSB contributes to transport safety by independently investigating, analysing and openly reporting on transport safety matters. Each year the ATSB receives more than 17,000 notifications of transport incidents and accidents. To prevent future transport safety occurrences, especially those with the potential for loss of life or serious injury, the ATSB directs its investigation resources to those incidents and accidents with the greatest potential of identifying systemic issues in aviation, marine and rail transport operations.
