The Avon Valley School

At Avon Valley School we are committed to ensuring that students are safe whilst in the online world. Some of the ways that we ensure they stay safe are listed below: Computing teachers deliver Online safety to all of their students at the beginning of every term in key stage three. Students in key stage four who study both GCSE ICT and Computer Science learn about Online Safety as part of the syllabus. PSHE deliver e-safety in across all year groups. An Online Safety assembly is led by Achievement Leaders to students in their house. Safer Internet Day - Throughout the week that this falls in staff focus on students staying safe by leading assemblies, in tutor time students 'thought for the week' and in Computing lessons staff raise the profile of internet safety. The summer term 2016, will see our first online safety meeting for parents/carers. Teachers and support staff receive at least online safety training annually with plans in place to increase this. The school is currently working towards the '360 Safe', e-safety accreditation. All staff at the School are committed to online safety but the staff and students listed in the Online Safety Group panel comprise the school's Online Safety Group.
