Ayrshire Precision Engineering
Ayrshire Precision Engineering Ltd was established in Coylton, South Ayrshire in 1969 by James Mitchell Snr. and was initially set up to produce machined components for civilian aircraft which were being manufactured locally by British Aerospace in nearby Prestwick. As the company expanded, additional work was sourced within the automotive & mining equipment sectors with the company carrying out component manufacture for Joy Mining, Anderson Strathclyde, GKN Scottish Stampings and Albion Automotive. In addition to the automotive & mining sectors, APE commenced manufacturing components for the burgeoning Oil & Gas industry which was sweeping Scotland in the 70's & 80's. Oil & Gas represents the largest sector for which we currently manufacture, however we are also actively involved in the manufacture of components for the nuclear and renewable energy sector. Our facility has expanded several times since our inception and we have invested significantly in plant, equipment and programming software in order to allow us to offer our customers an accurate, reliable and responsive component machining service. We are proud of the fact that we are able to offer our customers conformity and delivery which are over 99% accurate.
