Banjul Accord Group Aviation Safety Oversight Organisation

The website has been established to serve as a tool for promoting BAGASOO's primary mission of enhancing the safety oversight capability of member States. It represents the Organisation's effort to utilise the benefits of online capability in facilitating the realisation of its key objectives which include inter-alia: the harmonisation of regulations and procedures, training of member States' inspectors, coordination of certification and surveillance assistance to member States and rectification of aviation safety concerns identified through voluntary and confidential reporting systems. The site offers access to general and aviation safety information. Technical information presently available is largely in the areas related to Air Operations, Airworthiness and Aerodromes, as these are the areas to which the scope of BAGASOO activities are presently limited to. The scope of the Organisation's activities will be progressively broadened in future to cover other spheres of aviation as resources become available. To ensure that information available at the site continues to remain relevant, the site will be kept up-to-date, as frequently as practicable, and responsive to changes in the aviation environment both within and outside the sub-region. I wish to urge interested members of the public, particularly stakeholders within the BAG region to take full advantage of the resources provided by the site, mindful of the fact that substantial and steady progress can only be achieved through the collective effort and mutual interaction of both the users and providers of this service. BAGASOO welcomes contributions, suggestions and advice from interested individuals, stakeholders in the aviation community and other members of the public for the purpose of improving the quality of service provided and ultimately enhancing the safety, efficiency and regularity of air navigation within the sub-region and globally.
