The company was formerly known as Fleischer's Bagels, Inc. and changed its name to Bakewise Brands, Inc. in January 2011. Bakewise Brands, Inc. was founded in 1971 and is based in Macedon, New York. As of July 1, 2016, Bakewise Brands, Inc. operates as a subsidiary of Yamazaki Baking Co., Ltd.
