Ballymena BID was implemented in Ballymena Town Centre following a resounding successful vote by Ballymena town centre businesses whereby the business-led initiative allows member businesses to directly control the projects implemented in their town. Its aim is to encourage growth, development and investment in local businesses. Jane Prichard, Enterprise & Culture Director at Business in the Community said; "We launched the Healthy High Streets programme in 2014 to help revitalise town centres. Working with the support of high street brands Boots UK, Marks & Spencer, Santander, EE, Greggs, Wilko and Exterion Media, our aim to increase footfall, decrease empty shops and support job creation in over 100 towns throughout the UK over a three year period. It is great that Ballymena will be the recipient of the programme's help especially in the form of the free bus advertising." Supported by Exterion Media, the free bus advertising campaign gives Ballymena BID the opportunity to promote and celebrate Ballymena high street and all that it has to offer to the local community in and around Ballymena. Bus advertising provides the opportunity to engage with potential audiences as they work, shop and play across our towns and high streets. Ballymena's annual discount day is the single biggest one day event in the run up to Christmas and is the stepping stone to the next six weeks of marketing for Ballymena BID.
