We aim to provide helpful information and resources dedicated to community school learning and the Bangor School District. We are grateful for our partnerships and our continued relationships with the community. With a dynamic and supportive administration, DeFranco Elementary School and Bangor Area Middle School continue to create a culture of leadership, opportunity, and positive change for its' students, families, and surrounding community members. A community school is a regular public school that collaborates with community and business partners to create opportunities that lead to an excellent education for our students and community members. There are hundreds of community schools all across the nation and world that serve a diverse population of students. How long has the middle school and DeFranco been a community school? Both schools have been a community school since 2008.
