Kosovo Banking Association

KBA is the primary lobbying and advocating body for the creation of a most suitable sector for the operation of banks in Kosovo. Furthermore, KBA cooperates with the commercial banks in Kosovo and facilitates their approach towards significant information by specific institutions, domestic and international, and enables the collaboration and discussion between these actors for new initiatives that are in the interest of the involved parties. KBA cooperates with the Central Bank, the Government, media and the public opinion, associations and other institutions to support the development of a healthy banking industry. It coordinates a number of projects for banks - The Credit Registry and the International Transactions Report System were one of the first projects in which it was involved. KBA has offered its support also for the GIRO Payments System and lately also for the Direct Debit Scheme. Moreover, KBA has played and continues to play a key role during the process of the banking regulations review and has participated in the process of drafting a number of laws as a member of the Government working groups.
