Our focus is on continuing to serve and better the communities we all share. We are dedicated to serving the residents of Whitby, Ajax and Oshawa. Our company has and will continue to provide our time and talents and very often financial support to a wide range of community needs. Our many years of service to this community, is an accomplishment we are very proud of. Our low cost funeral home has always been family owned and operated from the Disney family in the late 19th century to the Robinson family for many following years and the Carson family for some years after. In 1997 the funeral home in charming downtown Brooklin was purchased by Rick and Brenda Barnes. In 2007 The Barnes family purchased ten acres of land within Whitby and built our new facility to better service the needs of our families while keeping our small town family business morals and belief system. Our new cremation facility has been designed and decorated to provide spacious and bright rooms, ample space, large chapel, visitation suites, lounge, kitchen, reception area and patio. Our facility is barrier free to all guests and offers handicapped parking at the front door. The outdoor space offers a scenic treed landscape with pond and outdoor walking trail. We have recently changed our business name to Barnes Memorial Funeral Home Ltd. from Memorial Chapel Brooklin Ltd. to incorporate our name into our business. Same family, same ownership and the same care and trust that we have built our reputation on.
