Bayesian Systems
Bayesian Systems, Inc. was founded in 1992 in Rockville, MD by Joanne Damours, its President and CEO, and two partners; Stanley Kaplan, Ph.D., an expert in Bayes Theorem, and Douglas Reingold, a mathematician and software developer. It later developed an in-house sales and technical support staff. The company provides consulting, software development and develops and markets predictive and diagnostic software products that are practical and profitable in real world applications. The three products it has developed that are currently being sold are: WinAwardTM is the only commercial product of its kind for seeking and winning federal, state and local government contracts. It is a business development and marketing management software system that calculates the probability of win if you bid, and then uses a decision theory module to decide; "Should you bid? given that probability and the value of the contract award to the bidding company. CarRightTM is software that empowers consumers to find out what's wrong with their cars (any make, model or year) and approximately how much it will cost to get the problem fixed. BayesEngineTM Technology accurately evaluates evidence in situations that are uncertain leading the user to the most probable conclusion. It has two key components: the inference engine, which houses Bayes Theorem, and the knowledge base, which embodies the subject matter expertise. This software can be embedded in third party software products.
