Established in 1981 by Ken Wickham, importing timbers initially for the boat building industry and selling Teak, Rimu, Oak, Kauri and Jarrah from a base in Parnell. Ken's cabinetmaker experience and knowledge of hardwoods and softwoods is extensive and has set BBS Timbers on a path of success from small beginnings to three substantial branches throughout New Zealand; Whangarei, Auckland and Christchurch all suppliers of quality timbers and plywoods from around the world. Ken's vision was to bring a fresh approach to New Zealand's timber industry by supplying to the trade high quality timber and plywood products from around the world at competitive prices with an emphasis on service. The Wickham family have now owned and operated BBS Timbers for over 30 years and have an extensive customer base demanding excellence in product and service from Flooring Contractors, Super Yacht & Boat Builders, Coach Builders, Joiners, Furniture and Cabinet Makers, Shop Fitters, Builders, Designers and Architects and the Construction Industry. As a family business we are known for our friendly and helpful approach to our customers. We have built strong, consistent and long term working relationships with suppliers and customers alike. Our employees are part of the team and with an average length of service of 10 years this experience shows through.
